Van Halen's final album, "A Different Kind Of Truth," is no longer available on any music streaming platforms. You can't buy a digital copy of it. If you're just getting into the band now (or getting back into them) and want to check it out on a whim, you'll need to buy it on CD or vinyl, or sail the pirate waters.
THIS is exactly why I'm gravitating back towards physical media, and why I'm digitizing my existing collection to throw on things like Plex and my iPod.
My music, on my terms.
@killyourfm I'm moving back to physical media. I just discovered this Automatic Ripping Machine code (https://github.com/automatic-ripping-machine/automatic-ripping-machine) and it's made things a breeze. I also wrote some scripts to recompress everything to use the same code so I can play it through jellyfin on my tv. I haven't started with music yet but it's next on my list
@rapscallionreaves This looks awesome! Any setup time involved would absolutely be negated by all the time saved not clicking through a ton of menus for every single disc.
I'm gonna look into this when I start ripping movies (most of the music CDs are ripped already).
Thanks!
@killyourfm no problem! And if you want to save space on those movies, you can check out https://gitlab.com/reavessm/recode
