Is there a term for when someone takes the extra effort (via deliberate misspellings/obfuscations, posting screenshots, things like that) to bypass user-created filters or blocks? It seems to fall somewhere around spam or engagement bait but neither of those are exactly what it is.
@chillicampari You mean when I write "Elmo" or "V1agra"?
@morph yes, just like that. ;)
@chillicampari That's a good question. And is there a strategy to let a filter learn those?
@morph the Mastodon interface seems to have support for partial string matching (which is neat) but that can also end up with accidental over-filtering. And I do like that there is timing and expiry. But now I am wondering about easier/smarter filter options.
@chillicampari And always a lot if handwork as it is to build lists. I have a total mess of lists, mutes, blocks and filters. But thank god no spam.
