Continuing to share favourite images from my 30+ year photographic career, this is Bernie Carter and Drew Moore on the South Ridge of Little Stand in the Lake District—a route I worked out while working on ‘Scrambles and Easy Climbs in the Lake District’. One of the best days out in the book

Bag 3 summits on this circular walk over the Old Man Coniston, Swirl How and Wetherlam. You get great views over the #LakeDistrict peaks, to the coast and interesting industrial archaeological remains to investigate. A lower level walk around Tarn Hows and Coniston today, incorporating distant fells, gorse, woodland, and some very friendly cows. Still sunny!

Views across Tarn Hows to the Langdales in one direction and the Coniston fells in the other. It’s another beautiful day in the Lake District

Rydal Mount in Ambleside in the #LakeDistrict, home of poet William Wordsworth is being sold by his family. Can’t help but feel in view of his significance in English literature that it should be preserved for the Nation, maybe owned by #NationalTrust?
Continuing to share favourite images from my 30+ year photographic career. Now looking at outdoor activities, this is my partner on Maiden Moor in the Lake District with Dale Head and Hindscarth.

Continuing to share favourite images from my 30+ year photographic career. Before I move on from bikes, a couple from ‘Off-Road Rides in the Lake District’. This is the gorgeous (but all too short) Low Lane in Kentmere.

Blooms
Nice to see some colour and flowers back after what seems like a long winter here.
High Street is a broad, flat Lake District summit rising to 2718ft (828m). It provides spectacular views to all the main summits, including Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Helvellyn, Blencathra etc – the list could go on. Sometimes, a landscape best lends itself as a monochrome image.
Ullswater in Cumbria's Lake District and a vista that includes the distant Kirkstone Pass. Once hiked across these hills from Ambleside to Glenridding. It was August, but still had to seek shelter next to a drystone wall during a heavy hailstorm.
