I'm thinking of switching over to Linux. I've tried many distros before, but I kept distro hopping and coming back to windows.
Anyone have any suggestions on a good distro? (I prefer the KDE environment)
@prinke unfortunately there isn't a perfect disto out there. It took me a while but I eventually stuck with EndeavourOS. It's not perfect, but I like it. Downside is that it's arch based so be prepared to fix things when things break.
@Juicebox thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out. I have some experience with arch as I’ve used Manjaro in the past.
@prinke not a problem! I've had experience with Manjaro but I decided against it only because the repos aren't the same as the arch repos. But all you can do it test and see what works for you
@prinke
Depends on what your preferences are.
Stability or shiny new versions?
Rolling Releases or Snapshots?
Dated or brand new hardware?
There was a distro chooser link shared here the other day…
@RyunoKi I’d prefer a more stable distro so I don’t have to worry about fixing a lot of things. I also have relatively new hardware; RTX 3070, Ryzen 3700x.
