@killyourfm they do get most of their money from G__gle. So I wouldn't hold my breath just yet.
@david Mozilla Corporation does. MZLA is its own entity, a subsidiary of Mozilla Foundation. To date, all of Thunderbird/MZLA's revenue comes from donations. (Which is all mentioned in the article...)

@david It's actually a really common misconception, no worries. The relationship between Mozilla and Thunderbird got really confusing around 2021.
And frankly, Mozilla's recent actions aren't exactly helping instill faith in associated products like Thunderbird (even if Thunderbird doesn't deserve any of that fallout)
@killyourfm @david as Jason said. We are a separate entity. Our money comes from user donations. We are governed by a community Council made up of our open source contributors.
We are a very unique thing in the world. But somehow it is working and we are doing good things in the world.
