These are peanut butter energy balls, a staple snack when I'm out on the trail. I always get excited making them, because it means a #hiking trip is imminent!
Here's how to make them, the proper metric way..
135 grams rolled oats
190 grams natural peanut butter (e.g. no added sugar)
75 grams raisins
30 grams honey
dash of cinnamon (don't overdo it!)
Combine all the ingredients in a big bowl, roll into bite-sized balls, and refrigerate for about an hour.
@killyourfm I started making those in the 70's for hiking, I can't remember if I got the recipe from the Deaf Smith cookbook, or if I just used Deaf Smith peanut butter. They're good when the power goes out and you can't cook, too.
@sunumbral Indeed! I have definitely relied on them as an entire meal on the trail before when I was just too exhausted to prep any real food.
@killyourfm I think they are called in polish "kulki mocy" which means "bliss balls" but more literal meaning would be "power balls".
@psyhackological ohhhh I might steal that. Power Balls is perfect!
