Initial thoughts:
- I wish the name was more creative. This is the first time Nintendo has just appended a number to their previous console’s name.
- I’m glad it’s backwards compatible. I think I saw rumors that it might not be.
- I would have liked the new Joycons to have a bit more heft to them. I have to use a third-party grip on my Switch to make it comfortable to use for any length of time.
@mike Yea, the name is not creative because the system is not creative. I'm seriously doubting there's a fun, toy-like hook or gimmick as there have been with so many Nintendo consoles before it.
@killyourfm @mike It feels like they just said "Let's take what we're doing, and selling millions of, and just make it slightly better so the kids want it.
I made the mistake of showing my 10 yr old the reveal trailer, yeah, it definitely worked on him.
@killyourfm I agree. It seems more like a refinement of what we already have with the Switch. Which is probably a good move on their part given how successful it has been.
@mike I certainly can't fault them for sticking to a winning formula. I just can't help but feel slightly disappointed.
