There were haters when we introduced the in-app donation appeal at @thunderbird, but the numbers didn't lie: hundreds of thousands of Thunderbird users responded positively, and annual donations went through the roof.
I'm pretty excited to see a similar approaching already working for #KDE as well. As I keep saying, this is the way! Don't rely on your users to find your donation appeal. Deliver it right to them.

@killyourfm Agreed. Just don't push it further like Wikipedia does by faking desperation. I stopped donating them due to that, i can't stand it when they appeal to my emotions, it's so manipulative.
