@plants this is the first trim of the year for the Sarracenia. I removed a lot of the old/dead growth and trimmed off the tops of the pitchers. I do that since the whole plant needs fresh air this time of the year and the tops tend to close up over the pitcher as it dries up. I had planned on dividing it as the pot is getting crowded, but now I think I should have done that earlier, so maybe I'll slip-pot it into a larger container if needed. This was the first year with outdoor dormancy.
@plants the tricky part is now that we have warm days, freezing nights and I have also trimmed it (a lot of the old growth was protective) I will need to bring it inside and move it outside during the day for the next few weeks. I was using the frost cover before and leaving them outside but now a lot of the growth points and flower buds have more exposure than before.
It will also look scraggly for a while until the old pitchers have fully dried and then the next pass of trimming after that.
@ghostdancer it's so cute right now! @plants

That's adorable! I have some babies I started from seed last winter. I think if I keep them under lights in winter I might get flowers in 2-3 years.
Good information about trimming them, thank you.

I did a sloppy job of stratification and planting when I was supposed to, but I still ended up with 20. Seeds were from Baker Creek.
