@anna I use a walking cane at conferences and have lower vision (astigmatism and peripheral blindness). I am also having trouble understanding the map on screen and already know I wouldn't be able to read it properly onsite with my phone (I think I have tried to use it before). @johanvdw if you are interested I can show you in person some of the issues in getting around at FOSDEM and especially what happens when using a cane in the crowd. It won't be exactly the same as Anna as we ... @garrett
@chillicampari @anna @garrett First of all, navigating the campus is hard, even for some of the FOSDEM organisers. It's often better to stay in a track than to try to quickly change.
Anyway, I'm definitely interested in how we could improve the application for users such as yourself.We use the same app as CCC (https://38c3.c3nav.de/), so especially if you think they do things better (eg colorscheme, ...) we might be able to pick them up quickly.
