Here is another update on how's my #PineTime doing. As I mentioned before, the glass cover for the heart rate sensor fell off. And, well, I got caught in the rain today and it died. Beautifully, tho
@vacuumbeef RIP little guy
@mvu yeeah RIP. Not gonna buy another one though. Maybe some time later if infinitime (it's leading OS) will get some screen lock option and better cyrillic support for notifications.
Probably gonna look at some cheap amazfit watches.
@vacuumbeef If you haven't already, do try re-installing InfiniTime. My PineTime suddenly started doing a similar boot-loop for no apparent reason. I thought it was going to be irreparable, but tried an OS reinstall and it has been perfect ever since.
@semiprime I can try but I need to take it apart I guess? I mean it's bootlooping, how do I connect to it? Or is there a special mode. Gonna read about it.
I think it really died of water that got inside through the heart rate sensor though
@vacuumbeef IIRC I flashed from Android with GadgetBridge - no disassembly needed. This may not be an option for you.
I'm no expert, but I'd agree that drying it out first might be a good idea
@semiprime nah it just continues it's bootloop even when you trigger the recovery firmware option.
@semiprime BUT literally a minute ago I actually managed to open the dead watch and another old pinetime I have and replace the board, so I will have a completely working watch by tomorrow after some battery soldering and gluing it all back together
