@killyourfm haven't used it basically ever. I prefer to buy music when possible

@killyourfm
Can confirm I've been using Bandcamp, Beatport and SoundCloud for many years

@s31bz @killyourfm How's the experience with these services? :)
I'm leaving spotify and don't really know what to choose

@freax
It completely depends on your music taste and services you prefer navigating I would say. Bandcamp has worked flawlessly for me for years, but in recent months it seems the SoundCloud android mobile app hasn't been maintained as well as their web app so I can't say the same for them on stability for streaming (locally or online)

Tldr: I wish I could but can't due to technical limitations of all other music services that I know of.

I would. If there was literally any other service with support for my needs of extreme playlist sizes (max of at least 10k). But I haven't found any yet. No subscription based one and no self-hosted one.
I hate the Spotify app. It's incredibly awful, especially with my large playlist size (currently at a little over 7k songs). But again, there's no other service I know of that provides such playlist sizes. And I'd also have to somehow reacquire all those songs as well. Which would be way too expensive for me, unless I pirate. Which has a lot of other problems

@killyourfm it’s clever, despicable but not really surprising. Cancelled my subscription, when I found right wing disinformation news podcast (called NIUS) in their catalog. They’d publish anything for their sweet cash.

@nowherefast I truly wish we lived in a world where we'd be surprised by all this...

@killyourfm this world was deprecated about 20 years ago and fully discontinued around 10 years ago.

@killyourfm Thats how it goes with anything that has venture capial behind it. No ideals, no goals. Just milking every percentage it can until it dies and the parasite investors move on to the next cash cow.

@killyourfm thankfully I have never once to use Spotify nor any other cloud music system. All my music is on device only.
