Every recipe online: “Here's a quick and easy recipe for pancakes! But first, a few paragraphs about my personal life and family, followed by 12 paragraphs detailing my entire life history with this food.”
@killyourfm just append the URL of any such recipe to https://cooked.wiki/ to strip out all the BS and provide a nicely rendered view
@eliasp WHOA! Today I learned something awesome thanks to you!
@killyourfm SEO has done irreparable damage to the Internet.
@serebit 100% agree :(
@killyourfm Well, you can't copyright a recipe, but you can a story.
They just want the rights to it and make what money they can, I would think.
@Haijo7 @killyourfm make it text only and recipes submitted via some git repo.
@Haijo7 indeed that sounds better but a LOT more work and including images or anything else requires infinitely more storage. @killyourfm
@killyourfm There’s a bunch of sites that will strip the crud out. Brb. Looking at bookmarks.
@bashfulrobot yea this came up in an earlier reply. It’s awesome! Already started an account and added a few recipes.
@killyourfm if a short paragraph + recipe showed up first, and the (entirely optional) backstory was dropped to the end of the article would that be better? Asking as someone who's giving a go to that blogging format?
